Sorry. I should have said I don't like it, not that it was bad. I feel like a hypocrite.

Anyway, I think that the whole death n' roll concept is ridiculous and the album just feels very cheesy to me. It doesn't really satisfy what I'm looking for when I listen to metal (which is too difficult to describe, I'm afraid). It is kind of a fun album, I guess, but I don't find it particularly good, especially compared to Left Hand Path.

i've just gotten into death n roll myself

because of hard disk space issues, i haven't d/led the two Entombed albums yet

but if Wolverine is anything like Carcass' Swansong, i should enjoy it mightily

Yeah, while I prefer the first 2 myself, i think Wolverine Blues is a decent album when judged for what it is, not compared to the first 2. But yeah, it is not for everybody.

i like Wolverine Blues a whole lot more than Swansong personally.

But death n roll is not a very large style. very few bands really.

Some people credit Entombed with being the first, but there was a band out of Sweden before them who doesnt get much credit cause of course unlike Entombed they didnt have MTV backing them or deals with Marvel Comics (well Entombed didnt, label did that deal on their behalf)

That band:

but apart from Furbowl, Entombed and Carcass.. can only think of Gorefest, who are good.

Check out Gorefest's album "Erase" if you have not.

I listened to it again and its now starting to grow on me a lot more and I`d say its a very good album even though Left Hand Path is THE Entombed album. The cheesy aspect that surrounds the album comes from things that could`ve been avoided 1) Death n Roll just sounds cheesy 2) Wolverine Blues is a corny name and 3)Using Wolverine on some covers was a bad idea, in the 1970s and 1980s he was one of the cooler Marvel characters but by the 1990s one of the cheesiest and worst.

This is your first post, why write a wiki style entry about such a crap band on a death metal thread?

Because it's a spambot that pulls its text directly from Wikipedia. Unfortunately we're getting boatloads of them lately.
