Yeah I'm not as chubby on Converge as most, don't get me wrong, they're alright but I don't think they're god's gift to hardcore metal. If not from hardcore, where does grindcore (in its purest form--not deathgrind, pornogrind, etc.) draw it's influence from?

Jane Doe was an alright album. As far as the Mathcore/Metalcore trend went, they were one of the better ones. But they wear off quickly.

Naked City - 2
Mordred - 0

John Zorn's Naked City album is one of my all-time favorites. Unique mix of Grindcore, Surf Rock, Noise Rock, Free Jazz, Ska and other sounds... the mixture of these styles work well and never get tiring to me. I fell in love with this album from the first time I heard it and have not looked back since.

Mordred, well I already expressed some feelings towards them already in this thread. No need to recycle them again here.

My taste at times are even more cheesier that that of Il Duce, because I really enjoyed the Mordred album, at first I disliked it and thought the singing dodgy but after I finished the album, I had to say I quite enjoyed it.....I mean, the most thrashy song on the album is this gem. Will vote later after I've heard the Naked City album! And how can anybody not like "Progress"

They suck about as much as Sacred Reich.

they did some funk metal which are way better than Mordred

but they also did that god awful (though well meaning) "31 Flavors" song. For that I will never forgive them.
