First time I ever heard about these guys was when they were mentioned as the band that forced Jag Panzer to change their name, and I assumed that they were probably just some **** band that had no claim to fame beyond that. Not so. They're a pretty awesome trad metal band, with a touch of Venom and more than a touch of Candlemass (although whether they were even aware of Candlemass is debatable, as that band had only just released their first album the year before, but I wouldn't be surprised). Also a heavy Metal Church influence as well.

One of those kult as hell bands that truly should have released more material.

Yep. That's it. 2 songs, about ten minutes total, ever released.

Yeah, Sanctuary is pretty tasty. How are you on other eighties power metal? Jag Panzer, Crimson Glory, Heathen, Warlord, etc?

I've heard Transcendence by Crimson Glory, but I think that's pretty much it. Definitely need to check out more.

Heathen

As much a thrash band as a power metal band, and they crossed over almost completely on their second album, but their first, Breaking the Silence, was essential eighties power metal.

Jag Panzer

Just straight up heavy/power metal which touches on thrash at times.

Warlord

I've been going on about these guys on here for months, but they're amazing. They manage to capture an dark, epic atmosphere that is just fantastic..

The music is "meh" and goes chugga-chugga-chugga. That's how the band got their name.
