Immortal started pretty straight forward second wave Black Metal, then as they went on started incorporating Thrash elements into their music.

Of course, "Call of the Wintermoon" from their debut is most known for its cheesy music video that has been parodied so much:


Their second album, "Pure Holocaust" is the best of their straight forward Black Metal era:


But my favorite album is still "At the Heart of Winter", from their Blackened Thrash years.

Never was there a band that sounded quite so much like Venom while still carrying the sound further. None more raw.

Dude, I was just listening to Diamond Head, and I was digging em hard. Love Diamond Head. But every time I listen to Diamond Head I always make it a couple songs before I wanna listen to this song. This is quite possibly the perfect metal song. Everything else is trying to overcomplicate things.

And now I'm gonna listen to "Seek and Destroy". The other perfect song. **** it. I'm putting this album in the Wild Card division on my thread because I will vote for this album... by not voting for it... yeah...
