I think Down is a bit too rockish and not enough hardcorey for a sludge band, but this is still one of the dankest riffs in all of metal.

Down (and Pantera for that matter) might have been my favorite band if it wasn't for Anselmo. I always felt like Anselmo was a shitty vocalist that was bogging down truly great musicians.

He's great on paper, but the actual sound of his voice isn't quite the best. His delivery saves him most of the time though.

i swear the charles and i are the only people with a proper appreciation for this album. black metal + hardcore punk + beer influenced hard rock = this album. shame they started to drop the punk edge as they went on.
