Best use of a Heavy Metal Parking Lot sample ever.

Dude, there's a band called Warcrab. That's like the best name ever. I of course listened to them knowing they would be terrible, but they're actually ****ing fantastic. Death metal and sludge that's just so ****ing heavy.
Dude, there's a band called Warcrab... and they ****ing rule! This makes my month. Warcrab - Return to Dust |
This is really good. I should have given this album more of a chance.
And this is a little long, but the bassline is at times super groovy. Side 'B' may be inferior to 'A', but not by much. EDIT: wait I just heard "Wicked World," and that rules. Side 'b' may actually be equal to 'a' |
^ Welcome after.

Not sure whether Sounds of the Animal Kingdom is going to slowly become my favorite Brutal Truth album or not. It's definitely their most original and most interesting, but kind of hard to listen to at times, especially with that muddy production.
But then there are times when this album just rocks in a twisted version of an infectious rock 'n' ****in' roll song. Their "singer's" highly noticeable Southern accent really gives those songs a fun vibe. |
Most intense metal song of all time? I'll let you decide.
|
How anyone can prefer Lamb of God's relatively tepid, weakly produced, boring later work to Burn the Priest and New American Gospel, I shall never know. This **** is ten times as vicious, heavy, and brutal.
|
I didn't know doom could be this sickly and awesome.
Also that cover wins most ominous album cover ever. The album logo seals the deal. |

Oh it's very close. Shilouettes are mega ominous.

No matter how superb the rest of the album is, this is my favorite moment (followed by the next track, which kills)
Their EP/demo is just as good if not better, check it out too |

NP: Howls of Ebb - Vigils of the 3rd Eye |
Generic emo metalcore cock rock. Hilarious, terrible, and yet oddly awesome. I remember hearing this song on some compilation years ago, and it was so catchy I just didn't give a **** how embarrassing it was. I'm dubious that I'm going to make it to the end of this album though.

I might just use this album to torture Trollheart with next Metal Month.

This will forever remain one of the godliest riffs I've ever heard, and that whole 10 minutes after it appears is possibly my favorite part of the album.
|
I've developed kind of a cycle since I was a teenager. About once every five years or so, I decide to give Cradle of Filth yet another chance to show me that they aren't awful. I believe I shall now break that cycle and pretend that they do not exist from this day forward.
And no. I am not posting a video. What the **** is the point? |
Still one of my favorite metal albums ever

More US power metal that's awesome.

Same band, but this album is like if Iron Maiden was an agressive speed metal band:
|
Thrash metal with a dose of power/heavy metal from a modern thrash band who actually deserves recognition. This album is so unknown that the only download I could find for it is what I can only imagine is a decade old link with WMA files. I forgot those even existed. I haven't listened to this **** since high school, and man do they ****ing rip.
|
New Eyehategod is kind of throwing me for a loop. I guess they're on less drugs or something, cause that whole droney, Sabbath on cheap heroin thing is kind of gone. This is much more mid-paced, and almost feels as much like a hardcore punk album as it does sludge metal.

I don't know what love is (never been in a relationship), but if there was a musical translation, Insomnium has the sound.

ode to Slash
I wrote a song called ode to slash and you can find it on youtube if you search the words ode to slash. Mine is the version by my name, nicholas macnutt. The name of the solo project is called lost on the grid which is the website I run. I was going to post a link but I can't. (whimper)... If you want to hear some cool noise give it a look. I would welcome some input on this project. We are going to do a new version soon that will be made by my brother Ben who was a memeber of CSDO for a while. It is what I was listening to. I like my own work most of the time.
