Such an amazing album, and they were never able to do anything else like it.

Definitely. Really hate Maiden but that album is really great.

I'm kind of in a trying to listen to them for the first time moment. I've had a long and convoluted listening history with Maiden that's left me kinda jaded and I appreciate Maiden's attempts at more complex songs that finally came to fruition with Somewhere in Time. It's nice that they left behind a lot of the corny anthemic tendencies that makes a lot of their earlier music seem tepid and dated.

Yall heard this rad mathcore record from this year? Great mix of insanely technical instrumentation, harsh metal elements, and accessibility and pop sensibility. Super great. Maybe a top 10 contender.
