Listen to some Clutch. Their new stuff is very bluesy/classic rock influenced, and as you go back through their discography it will start getting more "metal..." which is as good a way as any to get used to heavier sounds!

Plus, they are amazing.

I was never really a fan of Twisted Sister, but Dee Snider's son Jesse Blaze Snider writes some seriously awesome music. His new single "Twisted" just came out this week, I think? I've been listening to it non-stop.

that song is hilarious. Never got the love for Clutch. Just stick to Kyuss or even Fu Manchu or some COC.

Hey, Fu Manchu and Kyuss are great, but they are definitely heavier and more experimental than Clutch. The person I was recommending it to doesn't listen to metal, and mostly just like classic rock. I wanted to start with something easier.

That said, I seriously love Clutch, so I may be biased.

^ I was listening to that album at work the other day. That song was playing, and the light in the dish area was burnt out, so it was almost pitch dark back there.... and I had that song playing in the background. The waitress looked at me and said "what the hell are you listening to? THAT IS FRIGHTENING!".

I smiled.

Sweet. I saw a Youtube comment that said it sounded like the perfect song to murder someone to. A good description.

I think what draws me, or catches my interest, is the sound of it, but not so much the vocals and lyrics, I don't know how else to describe that, the music but without the lyrics and vocals. I respect what goes in to making the song and having everything come together like that, if that makes any sense.
Which song are you referring to? The Melvins song? Or the Clutch song?
