But of course nothing slays like their first album. This song still gives me chills and makes my neck wanna lose it's head after ten years. I'd actually venture to say that the fact that Bonded By Blood is quite possibly one of the most dated and cliched things to ever come out of the 80's actually somehow makes it timeless. Like, it's the epitome of unrepentantly cliched thrash metal, which somehow makes it stand out in some strange way that prevents it from becoming tired and boring.

Just sampled the new Baroness single. I actually dig it. I don't think they're gonna be able to top Red Album, so they need to do something else and Blue Album wasn't quite doing it. So, I'm curious to see what they do with this.

Well Rebirth was their first album after the comeback in 2001 and they had new singer Eduardo Falaschi taking over on vocals. He's a good vocalist but can't replace Andre Matos (imo one of the great metal and most unique metal vocalists ever) Also their sound on Rebirth is more geared up to be listener friendly for a lot of the songs and lacks some of the dynamics of the earlier albums, they still have an epic feel but lack the uniqueness of before. What made Angra great on their first three albums was Andre Matos's rollarcoaster style vocals, what we get with Eduardo is a more consistent vocal approach.

I've got some of Andre Matos's other projects lined up to listen to.

In the early days they could rock heavy.
