All of these bands incorporate pop and metal in fun ways. Queensryche's Empire is like the pinnacle of pop and metal influences coming together. As far as comparable "direct" aesthetics are concerned, Ratt, Dokken, etc. weren't all that dissimilar from Van Halen to begin with. Hell, Ratt's 2nd record Invasion Of Your Privacy sounds exactly like a VH album before they jumped into MTV synthville with 1984. So I dunno what you guys are getting your panties up in a bunch about.

The first VH album was definitely ahead of the curve. 'Atomic Punk' is probably my favorite from it.

The intro is the best part tbh.

Misery Signals could have been a way better band if they weren't so corny. They're still pretty alright.
