Up until now, I had only heard one song by Thorr's Hammer (note: not to be confused with the national socialist black metal band, Thor's Hammer) until today, but that song is so crushing that when I think of death/doom I think of Thorr's Hammer. They only ever released one EP, but if you like extreme doom, then you owe it to yourself to check them out.

P.S. The chick singing also does the growls. Blows my mind. Seriously, 99% of the men can't do what she does. And she was seventeen at the time. SEVENTEEN!!!!

^That's absolutely filthy . With one of the most fitting nicknames in music, Wino just keeps rocking with one outfit after another. Hidden Hand was the band he was in before joining that super-stoner project called Shrinebuilder.

Damn man, she's one of the most interesting female vocalists I've heard. Never thought a chick could pull it off like that.

Completely ignoring the fact that she is female and really young at the time, this is really good. Gotta get hold of this EP.

Sounds like you need some Katherine Katz in your life.

She comes in at about 0:35 on this track:

I know. I can't think of any other death/doom that's really that heavy and crushing with that perfect a production without getting into funeral doom.

One of the best funeral doom bands ever.
