One of the most epic songs I've heard. Briks, Batlord, Mondo, give me your thoughts on this right this damn second.

Oh, and the next song? Sounds like it's going to be a thrash metal song a la Onslaught, then it goes all Iron Maiden.

It's power metal that I like. It's a momentous occasion.

But you like Metal Church, right? Maybe you're a USPM kind of guy.

Spoiler for USPM:

And if it's the testicular vocals that bother you about power metal, there's always Blind Guardian:

The good Sir Hansi Kürsch is elite as ****.

I'm listening to one of my favourite Death Metal bands. This song is a kind of really Thrashy Death Metal and it's absolutely great.

All three of those USPM bands I would give a 2/5.

Oddly, of all of those, Blind Guardian is by far the most entertaining. The singer is rather spectacular honestly.

You might dig their A Night at the Opera album. The guitar isn't as high in the mix as most metal albums, giving the music more of an ensemble feel (like an orchestra), and the vocals are the centerpiece (like opera). The arrangements are pretty fancy as well.

Oh, and if you don't like wimpy PM then...

Iced Earth haven't really impressed me yet, but I second the Virgin Steele rec.
