Oddly, of all of those, Blind Guardian is by far the most entertaining. The singer is rather spectacular honestly.

Besides Blind Guardian, one of the best Power Metal bands out there is Persuader though the vocalist is quite often accused of mimicking/emulating Hansi Kursch from Blind Guardian. I do see the comparison making sense as they do have some likenesses, but Persuader's vocalist is different enough, imo, to not warrant a label of "copycat." Also, they're arguably not really 100% Power Metal in all their songs, but the Power Metal is still quite prevalent in most of their songs, at least enough for me to consider them Power Metal.

Blind Guardian is still my favourite Power Metal band, though, but Persuader is really awesome and worth checking out if you are interested in Power Metal, and don't care for the over-the-top fluffy stuff kinda Power Metal.

(for some reason I'm feeling deja-vu, so, sorry WPN if I've already recommended them to you, and am possibly being redundant.)

You might dig their A Night at the Opera album. The guitar isn't as high in the mix as most metal albums, giving the music more of an ensemble feel (like an orchestra), and the vocals are the centerpiece (like opera). The arrangements are pretty fancy as well.

I'm familiar with Iced Earth, they're great. I don't like that blind guardian album. I would much rather listen to the album Briks posted, though that's not saying much. Virgin Steele is just middle of the road.

You recommended these to JohnWilkesBooth recently. And I think I may like Persuade better than blind guardian, but they are only barely better.

@ Wpnfire - I don't know how much you've looked into it already, but as a fan of early black metal and brutal death metal, then war metal might be right up your alley.
