How about this for some awesome nu metal:

The album those songs were from was a transitional album from back when they started to flirt more with overt metal elements of. The songs on that album are generally fairly straight to the point and sometimes draw heavily on j-rock. Sometimes it souds quite nu-metal and metalcore influenced. One song is arguably industrial metal.

That tag would be because of songs like these:

They've gone through a lot of style changes, plus the albums are generally very varied in what styles the individual songs go for.

Dum Spiro Spero, for example, is a whole album of a sort of progressive metalcore-ish thing with dashes of more melody and other metal styles. Much of it is straight up death metal riffing/drumming. Also spots of atmosphere and some weird vocal approaches.

The album that came after it, Arche, is more of a modern sounding, polished metal thing with a lot of proggy elements and a lot of wide-range vocal melodies.

And here's one more song from an older album, also less straight forward:

And just to show another side to the band and not least to show one of my faves:

I am learning that most people on this site who listen to metal listen to garbage metal.

Get avant garde and raw you losers

Probably some tedious grimdark crap you're referring to.
At least I'm just gonna pretend it is until you actually post some evidence of greatness.
Come one, don't be shy.

Respect to the two new dudes and Mike but it needed to be said. The mainstays are solid though.

This is one of my faves from this year, and definitely what I was thinking of with that comment.

I don't think you have much of an intelligent view on modern metal tbh.
