It was heavy going, to be honest I don`t remember too much about it, need to pick it up again soon.

Some of the stuff about Gondolin is epic. It involves fighting balrogs and dragons and stuff. I enjoyed most of it!

First and second age middle-earth has some epic tales, at the moment I`m reading a lot of Warhammer stuff do you know it? Inspired by the works of Tolkien but in reality very different, very gory and at times has black comedy elements.

You all didn't like the Silmarillion?! That was my favorite book! I loved every minute of it. It was half way between the Bible and Morte D'Arthur.

I haven't read any of the Warhammer books. I've been reading The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan for the last while. Great books, with a truly massive cast of characters and a beautifully realized world.

NOOO!!! I loved it. The battles with Morgoth were like, totally rad. I was hooked on it, but I couldn't understand much of it!

It seemed a bit heavy going for a ten year old. I might understand it more now I'm older. Loved what I could understand, though. I want them to make a film about it with Kenneth Branagh as Morgoth and John Cleese as Iluvatar!

Hey, I`ve never heard of Wheel in Time, just looked it up and it looks interesting, will definitely put that on my must read fantasy novel list.

I've only skimmed over those... absolutely gigantic epic. "what Tolkein started, Jordan perfected", apparently.

That`s why it really appeals to me, there are so many of these fantasy type worlds and novels out there, so I`m always looking for recommendations.
