Favourite song.... 7 Caged Tigers even if it does lift the super reverb ending right out of Led Zep's Over The Hills and Far Away.

That's a good one. Is Tiny Music your fav album by them?

I guess so. I liked Purple quite a bit back in the day but at this point I find a lot of it sounds cheesy and cliche. At least with Tiny Music there's a bit more sarcasm in the tunes. Though neither would be a first choice grab for 90s discs out of my collection.

Now to flip this around a bit, do any non-Canadians remember Sloan? They came out just around the same time as the whole Seattle / grunge thing was blowing up and had a decent little single before taking off into a different direction and finding more success with straight ahead pop/rock a few years later.

Does anyone like Soundgarden's first couple of albums? Ultramega Ok is the only album that I can still listen to.

Absolutely. I still cite UltramegaOK as their best disc and the EPs Howard refers to (Screaming Life / FOPP) are awesome too. 'Entering' is still one of my favourite tracks.

Need to be in the right mood for Louder Than Love though.

They came to perform here about a year ago, same with Kyuss. I was hoping they would come into the bar I was working at as a lot of bands did post-concert. (The Hold Steady, Birds of Tokyo etc. Kyuss bands' road crew came in though). They didn't though. The guitarist Mark McEntee from Divinyls used to be a regular wine purchaser there. Obviously age hasn't overcome his drug abuse. It was always hilarious seeing him with his 3 dogs and a pale demented look on his face.
