I guess so. I liked Purple quite a bit back in the day but at this point I find a lot of it sounds cheesy and cliche. At least with Tiny Music there's a bit more sarcasm in the tunes. Though neither would be a first choice grab for 90s discs out of my collection.

Now to flip this around a bit, do any non-Canadians remember Sloan? They came out just around the same time as the whole Seattle / grunge thing was blowing up and had a decent little single before taking off into a different direction and finding more success with straight ahead pop/rock a few years later.
