Did You Like Or Hate The Lou Reed & Metallica Album Lulu

If this had been billed as just a Lou Reed album, and you could have stripped out all of Hetfield's irritating ****ing moaning and wailing in the background it would have been much better.

That being said, I still enjoy it a decent amount. It won't ever make it into my regular rotation but when a song comes up on shuffle I don't immediately hit my 'next track' button'.

It's Lou Reed & The Metallicas. They wrote a concept album about the life of the Scottish singer Lulu.

Actually, now that I think about it...James Hetfield probably would find yelling "I am the table" over and over pretty deep.

Honestly, I kind of really want to know what the recording sessions were like. It had to have been one of the most sad occurrences ever.

I say they were all as drunk as f*ck, there's no other explaination. I really hope that they'll look back someday and wonder "oh sweet jesus what were we thinking?". But the sad thing is they probably won't.

I'm also thinking, what would Metallica 1983 make of Metallica 2011? I say they'd be very depressed. Seriously have a listen to Kill 'Em All and imagine that band being involved in an album like Lulu.

Lars Ulrich stated on "That Metal Show" (with a grin on his face) that it was nothing more than a jam session without any kind of organized song structure at all.

He was talking earlier in the show how this all came about. How Lou Reed said to him at one time, that they should jam sometime. And Ulrich's reaction was like he was surprised when Reed actually called him and took the band up on the ideal.

I don't know why anyone would try to make some kind of big deal out of a simple jam session (only), and nothing more than that.
