Maybe it is just cause Alanis started out as a generic pop tart. Her early stuff was like Tiffany level bad.

Swallow the Sun - Emerald Forest and the Blackbird (2012)

It's pretty meh. I mean it accomplishes what it sets out to do, but it doesn't really add anything to the death/doom genre, and worst of all it just drags on and on.

I haven't heard her first two albums. Don't tempt me though. I love "I Think We're Alone Now". Granted I haven't heard anything else of hers.

Yeah, I was like five in '91, and without Cable (and therefore MTV). And I was under the impression that her first two albums only really were known in Canada where she was from.

Well, I am Canadian. We did not have MTV, only Much Music.

since we're so off-topic, here's another duplicate post:-

Kreator - Hordes of Chaos
Arch Enemy - Khaos Legions, The Root of all Evil
Tiamat - Prey, Judas Christ
Metallica - Beyond Magnetic EP

Judas Christ is a great album and not metal in any way. If you like Tiamat try and get A Deeper Kind of Slumber.
