Best Fleetwood Mac Album

In your opinion, what is the best Fleetwood mac album?

My selection would be "Tango in the night".
It would be interesting to know your opinion.

Great album and one of my favourite AOR albums from the 1980s, but best album still has to go to Rumours, one of the most sublime albums ever recorded.

Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac and Mr. Wonderful....

There's no ongoing Fleetwood Mac thread?

I too think Tango in the Night is the best Mac album.

What is this madness? Rumours straight up poops on everything else, although Tusk and the second self-titled are great too.

This. Though, admittedly, it's not like I've listened to their whole discography.

I mean, I've listened to some Peter Greenwood stuff and some post-Nicks stuff... but none of it is very good. At least, none of it beats the Buckingham-Nicks output.

Greatest Hits 30th Anniversary Edition, originally from 1971, but reissued in 2002. The Buckingham-Nicks version of the band is very good, but I still prefer Peter Green's FM. I liked the Rick Vito/Billy Burnette version too, in their own right and because they went back to playing the Peter Green material. Black Magic Woman, Man of the World and Oh, Well are great songs in my opinion.

The best three FM albums are:
1) Rumours
2)Tango in the Night
3) Fleetwood Mac

Parts of Tusk are great but for a double album its just good and not great, which is slightly disappointing really given that double albums in the 1970s, were usually seen as the creative pinnacle by the bands that were lucky enough to be given the chance to record one.

I'll always have a preference for "Rumours". It's one of those albums I always cite as something that completely changed my life.
