Default Virgin Black

Discovered this group years ago; one of my all time favorites if not my all time favorite musical group. Their music, first and foremost, bears an emotional quality unique to me that I haven’t felt a connection with in any other artist(s) in the same way. "Museum of Iscariot" is a very personal piece of poetry in my life.

Rowan London is without a doubt one of my biggest influences.

Their debut Sombre Romantic remains my favorite album, with their sophomore release Elegant…and Dying in close second. Their first self titled demo and their EP Trance remain favorites of mine as well.

Of course there is the Requiem trilogy, in which the third installment has not yet been released. Requiem – Mezzo Forte and Requiem – Fortissimo.

Some personally selected songs:

They used to be one of my favorites bands during my teens. I totally agree with you. Their first is my favorite, their second is also very good. I was with high hopes on the trilogy, but it doesn't sound vey "Virgin Black" to me, is more like any other band (a least a good band)...

According to a recent post on the band’s facebook, "...Virgin Black is still on an extended break but preparing themselves for a return at some stage, and the release of Pianissimo when that happens."

Just the latest bit of information.
