R.I.P. Jon Lord
Deep Purple's Jon Lord dies at 71 - Arts & Entertainment - CBC News
Yeah. Putting it metal, because he was a part of a band who I think deserves just as much love as Black Sabbath. RIP man, RIP... |
I put an RIP earlier in the Deep Purple thread, but your thread is better placed here.
|
Yeah. He deserves more than a side note on a thread... He gets his own...

John Lord of Deep Purple has passed
Really sad to hear this
|
Goodbye Jon. Another highway star has been carved in rock and we will always remember your quiet grace and all the controversy that didn't surround you. One of rock's true gentlemen, may he rest in peace.
|
Very sad news. One of Rock's greatest keyboardists, and certainly he was also a gentlemen as stated before. For evidence of his brilliance, I suggest you check out Made in Japan which shows him at his very best. He was truly remarkable.
RIP |
Kinda surprised me. Saw the EPK for '"Come Taste The Band" reissue and Lordi looked like he was going strong, and really enjoying retirement. Unfortunately, he looked a bit like Orson Wells, and the extra weight could have taken it's toll. For all I know, below could be his last recorded interview.
A pioneer, Lordi and Deep Purple's nastiest moments laid the ground work for a lot of heavy metal bands. |
Deep Purple wouldn't be Deep Purple without the guitar/organ interplay
RIP |
Deep Purple Rocks!
Jon Lord is Space Truckin' !!!
|
My local radio station decided to have a Madonna Day today for no discernible reason.
I texted in and suggested they play a Deep Purple song in tribute to Jon Lord. Credit to the guy, he read it out on air. He did say he'd pass it on which I guess is a polite way of telling me to fuck off, and they still didn't play anything. Bastards. R.I.P. Lordy - Your Hammond organ did things to my organ. |
