i hate myself for saying this, but AFI should've really kept going with the Black Sails in the Sunset style. the two newest albums killed it.

I would say the Rolling Stones too , but i`ll wait till i`ve seen them live.

Although they should have stopped making albums in 1982

Good luck, tickets are rolling out for 8,000 dollars right now in scalp-happy Boston. Mmm, tastes like freedom.

You know for all the friggen states talk about fighting terrorism, they don't do thing one about shutting down scalpers. Living in Ma, you can't buy a ticket strait up, everyone buys from scalpers...they were the last rock and roll right of passage I had to undertake too.

A scalper, is that a ticket tout? I assume so....
I think they have their place. It's cool if you don't buy a ticket in time and they sell out and you can pick one up outside the gig. It's kind of a last resort thing, 'cause you have to pay the rip off prices they charge. It sucks though if there a big problem, but a few can be beneficial to some.........

They have organized armies here who swarm and flood any available ticket outlets essentially buying up anything they can. Certain acts have tried to beat them, I know springsteen is requiring ID for all ticket purchases and then at the door again to make sure everyone who buys a ticket is the one who goes to the show, and once their, they gt a wrist band. People are pissed because now they can sit aorund and get one at the last minute, but I don't care cause those are the people who could afford a $500 ticket. Screw rich lazy people. Join the working class buddy and get in line.

^S**t, I said it sucks if theres a big problem, as in armys of the f**kers buying up tickets so others can't go. Maybe I didn't explain my view point very well.
What I was trying to get across is that a few can be a good thing, like if last minute you've decided to go to a gig where your mates are going and at the time of ticket sales you were not gonna go, and now there sold out. In that respect, if you wanna go bad enough, then you'll pay the higher prices. I wasn't universally sticking up for them, but there is more than one side to an arguement. Oh, and I am working class, I work 9to5 to pay my rent and my bills, and before the job I'm doing now I was a barman for 2 years, not the sort of job you do for the money (so don't assume stuff about pll you know noting about, 'cause you'll most likely be wrong). Besides the little dig at the end, I agree with everything you just said

i bought a ticket from a scalpler once.......it was my ****in cousin.....he had these tickets to a lamb of god concert.

TheBig3 05-19-2005 08:05 PM

walkin' I wasn't refering to you, that was a preverbial "get in line buddy" to the rich people out there. That wasn't directed at you.

walkin' dude 05-20-2005 02:27 AM

^alright thebig3killedmyraindog, thats cool. The point you said about the tickets having your name on them and I.d to get in to gigs should be more wide spread. It's already done at festivals, the problem with gigs is you can get get the tickets in music shops sometimes, if all the tickets where sold through ticket hotlines & the internet only it could be introduced, I wouldn't really want it done that way though. It's not really a problem for the bands, if they where losing money something would be done but its only the fans that in some cases are getting ripped off, and when it comes down to it, I think that the bands sould do more to protect they're fans as its them that got 'em there in the first place.
