90's
 

Hello guys,

As we all know, the 90s music has been very definitive of its sound than the usual songs that have been to a rise in our era. I'm 32 years old already, and 90s music has been my peak growing up. Any favortie/memorable songs and bands during that era? Or might I also ask if you guys miss those types of music?

I was born in '99, but I do listen to some 90s' music. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Oasis, Green Day, The Offspring, Blink-182 and R.E.M. are some of my favourite bands from the 90s. :)

Oh wow, you're a whole lot younger than I thought you were. By about 10 years. Seriously...

How come?

Born exactly in 1990 so I haven't directly lived that scene, but all my favourite bands are from there. It's amazing how many masterpieces came out in that decade.

To me, Bullet With Butterfly Wings is the song that changed everything. In a few weeks all that 80's glam rock bands disappeared from my listenings and I discovered a world.

I was 16 in 1990 and the whole death/black metal explosion hit me like a bomb. Thrash metal was still heavy on my play list and the whole grunge thing was really only starting at that time.

Hair metal bands really did well to survive this time period. David Lee Roth, Crue, Def Leppard, Skid Row and Guns n' Roses being a few examples.

Prog rock was at a low point (I don't remember many new bands at the time), and dance music had gone crazy. The 90s 'raves' where something to behold. I read that a band like Prodigy played to 80,000 people and got about £25 each for their troubles.

Oh it's not a bad thing, you just appear older online I guess. At least to me.

Good job on the backtrack. Kinda heartwarming for a 13 year old to listen to the 90s :)

I had some students born '89-'92 and they feel the same way as you do too. Yeah, it was like a virus back then, everyone had it! :)

Yess. But good thing a few waves came out during the 2000s.

I was born in '93. 90's music is ONE of my favorite time periods for music. I liked nirvana as a kid but moved on towards more talented bands as time progressed. Bands like The Dandy Warhols, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Blind Melon and Sleep are my main interests right now as far as the 90's go.

Ive also got a tattoo that says "Gish". A tribute to the Smashing Pumpkins debut album (1991). Its in the exact same style as the lettering on the album cover, its just enlarged a bit.
