iron maiden have nothing unique or special with them.
slipknot songs the heretic anthem and people= **** are nearly perfect metal songs.

I wonder what the next Slipknot album will sound like i think they are gonna really shock people with this one meaning its not going to be a SUPER HEavy album sure it will have its 3 Heavy songs but i think there going to add alot more colors to this one like more electronics

If all you guys want is heavy I can hook up my giant bass amp and hit a dropped D for a few hours.

I'm a strong slipknot fan and i think you're missing the point and i think this post doesn't quite hit the points that it should.
What i think of slipknot is they were a 9 piece band now 8 due to Paul Gray losing his life, but they were able to pull together to make some music that they didn't really care what other people thought about them, their first album is an album full of hate, anger and pain, and their second album Iowa is just as dark and twisted as the first.

As for the comment brutality like this and referring to snuff, i think the brutality of that song is the image and story it gives off, considering Corey actually broke down while filming the video i think it shows that they do put a-lot of effort and passion into everything. That's the real power, brutality and truth about it.

Slipknot are my favorite band, but you have to leave it to other people opinions. You can;t say some of those bands are "pussy metal" when they are some of Slipknots influences. Don't slate other bands. If you don't like them fair enough, i'm not a fan of them but it's still music that a load of people enjoy listening too so you just need to understand that to someone else "power and brutality" might just be something different.

Sorry i know you're trying to get your point across that they can write slower beautiful songs, but come on at least choose the right ones. Use vermillion pt 2 as an example, not danger keep away because if you've heard the full version of danger keep away then you will know that it's not as slow and beautiful.

I still wonder if this thread was meant seriously. Like, Iron Maiden is pussy metal while Slipknot is the best band in the entire world? Metal isn't all about brutality, darkness and stuff. That's like saying that emo music is all about suicide and depression

oh my god, if one more person tells me how beautiful Taylor's clean vocals are again, I'm going to vomit. He's an awful singer in an awful band with awful lyrics and awful musicianship. Come and get me when they use some mildly complex time signatures, or when they stop using 4 guys to create the effect that their drummer is competent.

There is no proper way to argue for Slipknot, they are a horrendous, generic, cringefest of a rock band, only surpassed in cringeworthiness by Nickelback, Creed and Theory Of A Deadman type bands.
