As a metal fan and a fan of a hell of a lot of other genres, I meet metal fans all the time that I disagree with. This statement is totally wrong.

You've gotta be kidding. Here we're talking about a whole lot of Metallica fans who can't stand an album that other Metallica fans love. One bunch can't agree if it's a masterpiece or if it's garbage. That certainly isn't a universal metal agreeance, now is it? This proves the point...

Here we go again. But now we are picking on an album that most thrashers claim to be the last really good album by my favorite band. I once told my dad to listen to ...And Justice for All. Well, I think ...And Justice For All is great, so there.

I do, kind of, understand what the OP is getting at. There is a large percentage of fans going to Metallica gigs, shouting 'woooo' and giving it the horns, strutting round with their 'Metal Up Your Ass' t-shirts on, acting like they've been there since the band's inception.

However, every band has got those kind of fans. There's not really a lot you can do about it, other than ignore them.
