The Zombies' they're not nearly as known as the Beach Boys or Beatles, but in my opinion, in terms of vocal harmonies, is right up there with the two..just listen to their Odessey and Oracle album if you need convincing. (album in my avatar)

Surprised Weezer haven't been mentioned yet,

And yeah, the thought that the Beatles were better than the Beach Boys at harmonies/vocal arrangements is pretty laughable. When I saw this thread I immediately thought of the acapella tag on this version of "Time to Get Alone" which is, simply put, a whole different level of amazing.

Duh. Does anyone even try harmonies like this anymore?

That said, this particular song is obviously a Four Freshmen steal, so original credit doesn't really go to BW here.

These guys were 2nd to the BB in the harmony dept IMO

Meh. I'd say even The Association was better in that category.

Yes, but let me lay my cards on the table..I make no attempts to hide that the Beatles are my favorite band, of all time. I adore them..but I think the fact that an album, or band, in my opinion, is comparable to them says a lot about them.

And the comparison can just go on and on. Adding the Temptations to the list is just another drop in the bucket concerning all the great vocal bands through out the years. Philly's Boyz ll Men are one of my all-time favorite vocal groups.

Here's a really cool group I stumbled upon today. The choir parts are pretty cool.

Has anyone mentioned Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young yet? One of the best in the folk rock category.

Great steel guitar by Jerry Garcia.
