I don't know about that, but they're definitely better than any generic metal band, besides I don't think that Zach DeLaRocha's focal point was in putting himself over as a rapper, but rather to vocally deliver his anger about the truth of the socio-political system in which we live in a blatantly bold and relentless manner, hence the name: Rage Against the Machine. His primary influence was Chuck D of Public Enemy, One of the most legendary and powerful "rappers" that ever held a microphone, and you can definitely hear it in his work, but I think anyone would be hard pressed to call it imitation. In addition Tom Morello Is probably the most innovative guitarists of this generation. Its one thing to be able to play ten billion notes a second, any metal wanker who focuses hard enough can do that, but to be able to make a guitar sound like a multitude of different instruments takes a degree of talent that most haven't achieved. Put simply RATM is probably the most innovative original bands to come out of the 90's.

Im 16, not 40 - I assume your 40.

I've always thought Juda's Preist began in the 1980's and haven't heard much at all about them, I live in Australia and half the people I ask, more I bet - don't know who this band is... Iron Maiden on the other hand are gods.

Nowhere near , if you assume that because I know what i`m talking about I reccommend these things they have , they`re called books & they`re full of useful information.

All you had to do was scroll up this thread a bit & read my first post & you`ll see exactly WHY Iron Maiden are more well known these days than Judas Priest.

Honestly does it really hurt to read some infomation before you start crying when i say you`re wrong.

Whoever said that Cobain was better than van Halen needs to be shot. Van halen basiclaly invented hammering on a guitar, he could hammer like no other. yeah, Nirvana had better songwriting but then again there ar emany 80's bands with better songs than nirvana. U2 for instance, Alice Cooper, Queen, AC DC, the Cure..Don't you understand that a lot of 80's stuff was pure gold?? Yeah, a lot of it was cheese like motley crue, bon jovi, posion, but every era has it's achilles heel. 80;s music was better than modern day dribble.. Iron Maiden own Judas Preist. JP were a lot more heavy rock for lengths of thier career than heavy metal, Maiden were always heavy metal. ****inson was eaisly their best singer though..What about metallica?? they were 80's!! Just because wham and lot sof other cheap, horrible bands were around doesn't mean every 80's abnd were bad..Niravana were a lot of rubbish, I am afarid to say, Pearl jam and AIC were far more talented..Niravan kind of killed the talented music playing bit..
