Default Non-female fronted symphonic metal

Hi there.

As the title says, I want to ask you if you know any non-female fronted symphonic metal bands. I have listened to many ****ty bands pretending to be metal and most of them are female fronted. I'm not saying that f-f'ed metal is bad, because I wouldn't listen (for example) Epica or Within Temptation. But most of similar (based on Lastfm) bands are pretty lame and very far from being metal bands.
Honestly, I am sick of looking for good ones. And I am sick of these lame, children-targeted bands. I can't find anything new to listen.

I want to ask if you know MALE-fronted symphonic metal bands. And, by the way, refer me please some good female-fronted metal ones.

Thanks in advance.

What symphonic metal do you actually like?

Kamelot is a great band that can be labelled as symphonic depending on the era or album I suppose. Serenity, Therion, Haggard are some really good male fronted bands as well.

Not sure your in the right genre of music if youre not looking for cheese though. That's what like 95% of the genre is.

I like Therion, Theatres des Vampires, Hollenthon, Epica, Within Temptation, old Nightwish, After Forever, Krypteria, Tristania and Cadaveria. I am very picky, so it's not so much.

I heard about Kamelot, but I listened it long time ago and don't really remember it. I will try to listen to it again. I will try Serenity and Haggard as well.

What do you mean?

Shadow Gallery are great but not that symphonic. Stratovarius are power metal but have symphonic elements, as do a lot of power metal bands and then there's Diablo Swing Orchestra, though they're kind of a category onto themselves! Adagio are pretty damn fine, as are Iced Earth, Narnia, Fairyland, Lacuna Coil, Redemption, later Savatage, TSO of course, Silent Edge, Theocracy, Tyr, Rhapsody, most of Erik Norlander's stuff, Star One, Sonata Artica, some Devin Townsend, Eden's Curse, Freedom Call, Stormbringer, Validor, Visions of Atlantis, loads more...

Good female fronted bands include Nemesea, Edenbridge, Dark Moor, and so on.

I guess I was just confused at your "bands pretending to be metal" and "most of similar (based on Lastfm) bands are pretty lame and very far from being metal bands" comments. Dont even know what they even mean really.

Yeah, you might want to look into a different genre and just stick with those few bands that you DO like.

A few that haven't been mentioned so far are Apocalyptica, Xandria, some of Dimmu Borgir, Leaves' Eyes and Seraphim

Rhapsody of Fire is male fronted, they combine symphonic metal with power metal and orchestra or whatever its called. You probably know them already though.

I think he means that bands like Nightwish and Lacuna Coil are really just "metal" for teenage girls who cut themselves.

And yet Nightwish is one of the best symphonic metal bands

...for teenage girls who cut themselves. But seriously, Nightwish were just a novelty band. There wasn't really much to them besides putting an opera singer over second-rate melodic metal. I haven't cared much about listening to their new singer since the one song I remember hearing was just kinda meh. Nightwish have had some good songs in the past, but they were never anything more than a novelty.
