You may also want to check out this thread of mine, as I talk about Diamond Head and a whole host of other British metal bands of that period, its actaully surprising just how melodic a lot of them actually were. BTW I need to update it as its been several weeks since I wrote on it.

You may actually discover a whole load of metal albums that you actually like.

Motorhead are not known for their diversity, which I`m sure you already well know. Its a case of what you see is what you get really, you either like it or you don`t!

Next mini review I`ll do on NWOBHM thread will probably be Girlschool who recorded some stuff with motorhead as well.

Thanks for the link. For some reason, I just got a random nosebleed. Perhaps I'll leave the heavy metal till tomorrow.

I agree, metal and nosebleeds don`t mix well.

I've always liked Motorhead, but found them to be rather overrated, but in the last few days, I've been rather obsessively listening to them and have come to the conclusion that they are one of the few to truly perfect straight up, raw rock'n'roll. Why they are associated with metal, I do not know, because they are pure rock'n'roll to the bone.

Aw, fuckin' hell yeah!

If you take Motorhead for what they are, then they're great. If you start thinking about their music, you realize they're nothing special and just relied on a huge amount of attitude.

They're associated with metal because... well... they are metal—of a raw, punkish 70s variety of course.

Just because Styx are too complex for you to appreciate, there's no need to get jealous now.
