That's the artwork for Heritage, I'm posting from my phone so haven't been able to see it properly, but from what I could see I have no idea what its supposed to represent. I just want the first teaser of songs to come now

A lot of the Opeth fans that I know are either loving the cover, or just not feeling it. I think the cover is great, very different of course, but it's a sign that it will probably a bit more prog, which I'm fine with. I think it's a fantastic cover.

Sweet cover, and I agree with Lone Misfit, this is definitely going to be more of a prog album.

I think the cover is kinda cheesy looking. But I am sure the album itself will be good.

I liked the cover by itself because of its quirky 70's vibe, but compared to all of Opeth's other covers it seems so out of place. Oh well, it is the music that counts anyway

So yeah definitely expect a more progressive rock themed album.

Based on this post alone, I would say that Opeth are following in the footsteps of Mastodon in the sense that their older albums are far more interesting and engaging than their newer, boring, bland prog-metal/rock material. But maybe that's a premature observation and I'm totally wrong

I found Watershed and Crack the Skye to be incredible. What did you think of the song posted in the link?

That's the song I was referring to. Completely clean vocals (albeit great clean vocals) and relatively easy-to-digest prog rock that's quite a step away from what I've heard on Blackwater Park and Still Life. Also, I couldn't stand Crack the Skye, but I think that was due to the singer's horrible timbre. I much prefer Leviathan and Remission.

Though I must admit, I respect both artists for developing and evolving their sound instead of sticking with the same recipe album in and album out.
