I would agree. There is still plenty of a prog/death metal mix and I feel it is better than Blackwater Park. It doesn't really matter which album one goes with though, all Opeth is good

Ghost Reveries is more accessible than BWP, but I do not know if I would say it is better. To much rip offery on Ghost Reveries.

Have you not heard Pale Communion? It's very much like their softer stuff with some heavy prog influences. It's quite good.

Love Pale Communion. Love Opeth except for the Cookie Monster stuff. Kinda glad that Akerfeldt ruined his voice and can't do it anymore.
