Black is SO GOOD...
"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky, but why
Why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine"

I really love "Release".it's so powerful and striking...
at the 2nd place.."now is mine" or "rearviewmirror"

banonbush 01-29-2004 05:39 PM

My favorite would have to be the shortest one they have. NOt the biggest fan of theirs, although the album "ten" wasn't too bad.

JackJeckel 01-29-2004 06:34 PM

Pearl Jam suck nut, beyond that one "Last Kiss" song.

adidasss 06-20-2005 11:29 AM

Pearl Jam

you like? what's your favorite album?mine is yield ( given to fly and wishlist are one of my favourite songs ever! ) but i have to confess i've only listened to ten, yield and binaural ( binaural sucked the big one so i gave it to my sister's boyfriend who's a major pearl jam fan )....can you recommend anything i haven't heard...and what's riot act like?

ArtistInTheAmbulance 06-20-2005 12:44 PM

Hmmmm Ive never been completely sure... Theres the occasional song that I really enjoy, but most of the time I find it hard to get a grip on their songs. I know what I mean when I say that, even if no one else does...

Mebbe Im just not listening to the right stuff.

dead_ringer 06-21-2005 06:53 AM

there cool my fav album is ten

riseagainstrocks 06-21-2005 05:03 PM

I have an intense dislike for them. Don't ask me why, I developed it around the same time as I did for Nirvana. I think it was during the 2 and half hours my dad had it playing in the car on the way to Virginia Beach.

Merkaba 06-22-2005 12:36 AM

Pearl Jam are legends but some of their stuff is quite weak. Eddie Vedder is a legend

dead_ringer 06-22-2005 07:50 AM

alive is so good

SaTaNsChIlD666 06-22-2005 12:08 PM

black would have to be my fav.... but whats that song with the really jazzy sounding guitar in it?

Merkaba 06-23-2005 03:25 AM

...oooops have you heard dissident? thats a great song i love the guitar in it.

adidasss 06-23-2005 06:29 AM

no, on which album is it? have you heard any other albums? help please!

comfortablynumb 06-24-2005 12:49 AM

Black is great...but I also love Yellow Ledbetter, so I have to say both of these, lol.

ashesmf 06-24-2005 01:00 AM

Black is the best. I especially like the Aaron Lewis cover.

Merkaba 06-24-2005 02:50 AM

i think vitology??? download it though, wicked song. Just buy their greatest hits or get it copied. The actual pearl jam albums arent that good except Ten (which is awesome by pearl jams standards) and maybe vitology. But as for their other albums, well, the greatest hits pretty much sums them up as they only have maybe one or two good songs per album.

SaTaNsChIlD666 06-24-2005 08:02 AM

true that is a damn good cover

From Cosmic Left Feild... 06-24-2005 05:01 PM

Courderoy

EDGE 06-24-2005 05:05 PM

I could never choose.

adidasss 06-24-2005 05:10 PM

Pearl Jam - Help!

Hi there i need some Pearl Jam Help!

(Im a really new fan)

I own the - Rearviewmirror: Greatest Hits 1991-2003 CD and i like most of the songs on the 1st disc = The Rocking! songs:

(Once,Alive,Even Flow,Jeremy,State of Love and Trust(Fave song))

What other Pearl Jam albums would you recomend = Studio + Live

Please could you also Recomend Simliar Bands !

( Apart from Soundgarden + Alice in Chains )

adidasss 06-08-2006 03:02 PM

yield is my favourite album...( given to fly and wishlist are on it=my fav. pearl jam songs )
avoid binaural...it's shyte...

Merkaba 06-08-2006 04:21 PM

Just get 'Ten'

It's the album with Alive, Even Flow, Jeremy, Once. This is their best album in my opinion.

cardboard adolescent 06-08-2006 04:28 PM

I recommend: Screaming Trees, Temple of the Dog, Green River, Mother Love Bone..

Reznorslave 06-08-2006 05:43 PM

Vs. is the best Pearl Jam album ever...period. Solid from start to finish plus I think you'll like it because it has lots of uptempo songs on it!!! As far as other things go, get the Singles soundtrack, which is excellent! (State of Love and Trust is on that one)

swim 06-08-2006 05:47 PM

Ten is the most likeable album I think.

Bands I recommend:Soundgarden, Days of the New, Alice In Chains, Temple of the Dog, Mudhoney, Mother Love Bone, Green River, Meat Puppets.
And if you like the majority of those Dinosaur Jr., Pixies, and Pavement are another good move.

Vs is the best one, I have all studio albums (and like them all) and about 30 live double CD's and they are awesome. I'd pick the one from Milan, Italy. The audience participation on that CD is amazing.

Studio Order:
Vs
Ten
Yield
Vitalogy
Riot Act
Pearl Jam (latest)
No Code
Binaural

Kadidiot 12-15-2006 11:30 AM

Have you ever heard of "Temple of the Dog"?

That's Pearl Jam/Soundgarden

They have that song Hungry "I'm goin hun-g-ry-ahhhh..."

NaNaNer 12-15-2006 11:31 AM

I love that song. Gotta find it in my collection.

I am a huge fan of Pearl Jam...but Eddie has gonna gone "emo" and know he isnt so grand.

Leftovermelody 12-24-2006 11:15 AM

I must have been f*ucked up last week..or something..

I meant that Eddie went all emo and drowned out his talent with old 50's covers..

Well firstly, I wouldn't say that Pearl Jam are particularly "similar" to Soundgarden and Alice In Chains at all. Pretty damn far apart in sound, really. Pearl Jam's sound is much more classic rock orientated than, well, pretty much all of the other Seattle-sound bands. S'garden and AIC were on the metal side of the grunge spectrum.

But yeah, Ten's the best place to start off with. Their new self-titled album is also probably their best release since the mid-nineties.

Rainard Jalen 01-05-2007 07:53 AM

Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam

I'm sure most of y'all who got this self-titled album will agree with me about how awesome it is. This record has some of the best rockers in years on it, and some top quality slow tracks to boot.

My personal favourites are Life Wasted and Unemployable. I just LOVE these two songs.

What do others who have this album think of it, and what are your favourite tracks off it?

almauro 01-05-2007 09:35 AM

It's hard for me to get into the new Pearl Jam because 10 was one of the greatest Hard Rock albums ever recorded. It matched artistic success with commercial success. The whole thing plays like a greatest hits package. VS was a decent follow-up, but it was a very rapid decline for Pearl Jam after that. They just completely lost it and now it seems there only in it for the money.

Party Guy

Rainard Jalen 01-05-2007 11:37 AM

Who cares what they're in it for. For one, that's impossible for anybody to really know except for themselves.

What counts is whether or not their music is any good. Not whether it's a groundbreaking artistic statement (just how many of them are there anyway?).

It is true that since Vitology Pearl Jam haven't been really up to scratch, but this new record in particular is by any fair standards a decent hard rock record.

Also, any SERIOUSLY high quality album should play like a greatest hits record.

gottaSCREM 01-05-2007 01:30 PM

Ok, both of you are stupid Pearl Jam's Vitalogy had awsome songs Not For You and Spin The Black Circle and their self titled album had alot of great songs Life Wasted, World Wide Scuicide, and Gone, Pearl Jam I can flat out tell you their not in it for money if they were why hven't they changed their style insted there staying true to the Seattle Sound.:usehead:

Rainard Jalen 01-05-2007 05:15 PM

For a start, I wasn't attacking Pearl Jam, hell, I love the band. What I said is that they dropped the ball AFTER Vitology, but with this new record they seem to be back in business.

Furthermore... well, actually that's all I had to say.

What do other people think about the self-titled album?
