I'm not quite sure how this happened, but my tastes are almost exclusively retro, with the exception of the Meat Puppets...
...otherwise, it's predominantly the Grateful Dead and Floyd Attachment 5568 , then everything else, which includes The Doors; CSNY; Zep; early REM; everything Smiths (!); the Pistols; and Dead Kennedys; as well as a lot Romantic era classical (but that's another thread!) |

Actually, I listened to Hybrid Theory recently and cringed hard at the whiny, juvenile lyrics. When you think about it, they basically were the family friendly version of Limp Bizkit during their heyday. |

I could actually bear listening to their single, Portrait (He Knew). Portrait's always been my favorite song by Kansas anyway. Carry On My Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind have been so overplayed through the years. Not something I would be looking forward listening to any time soon.

I like Kansas however I have to be in the mood for them.

Steely Dan
Walter Becker and Donald Fagen of Steely Dan, and their style of jazz fusion.
Each of their various albums have their own unique sound and personality. Musically, they cross so many different barriers and thresholds in most all of the genres. Versatility is not one of their weak points. Their studio recordings and production has withstood the test of time. They have always been perfectionist in the studio, and their recordings are still just as good as anything out there today. |

Everything Must Go has two or three decent songs on it. Everything Must Go is also the title track to one of the better songs. I find most of their later albums are not nearly as good as some of their earlier stuff.
