The only real song that I like is Bat Country and half the reason I like it is because its a dedication to Hunter S Thompson.

i actually do like them. City of Evil is a damn good album. alot of people may say they suck or aren't good, but listen to the cd and tell me they can't play, albiet some leads parts are a tad sloppy.

they can play, but the vocals are some of the worst in metal history.

maybe, but that's cause he ****ed up his voice from screaming and ****. while their vocals arent that great, they have some pretty damn good hooks in their songs

when did he actually screw up his vocals? It's been like several years hasn't it?

"In the band's debut album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, M. Shadows' vocals had a heavy metalcore influence and consisted mostly of screaming and guttural growls. This style gradually decreased in later albums into more conventional clean singing and had been almost completely jettisoned (with the exception of backing introduction screams) by the release of City of Evil, the band's major label debut. Despite having admitted minor throat surgery this was not a cause for the change and in an interview on All Excess, manager Larry Jacobson states that Shadows had decided several years before the making of City of Evil that it would be an all singing album."

ok well i was partially right on this one

I like some songs. But the guitar is what kills me. It sounds too much like 80's hair metal.

Interesting instrumental choices from this band, not the BEST I've ever heard, but quite good.
Also very catchy and inventive.
Their great live (just from testimonials, my parents wouldn't let me set foot at a concert like that if they had any knowledge of the plan), the lead singer has an intriguing voice, and their drummer is THE ****.

They deserve all the hype they get, even if their music isn't for everyone.
