Default Surf Rock

Anybody know any good surf rock bands? My friend just took me to a free show here in Cincinnati and we saw Surfer Blood. I loved them! Do you guys know of any other good bands that have that cool, surf sound?

Apologies accepted.

I'm assuming you're either referring to any recent surf rock bands, because the classics such as the Beach Boys are a given. In case not, here are a few samples.

There are also some more recent bands that have resurrected the genre, but it's not nearly the same it was as in Days of Yore.

Stuff like this next one sound straight out of 1964:

This is an older band, from 1985.

But, none of these other bands can hold a candle to the Beach Boys.

OK I just listened to a few of this band's songs. Pretty good, hadn't heard of them before, I don't think. Not really very "surf-y" however, though I suppose it's just a modern interpretation of the sound.

If that's what you like you might like some of the Beach Boy's "later" stuff. Maybe.

That song was written by Charles Manson!

This is one of my favorite surf rock songs. I dig how much you can hear his Lebanese roots in this, and there's something that always seems futuristic to me about it despite the fact that its over 50 years old.
