I liked both approaches. I find Faith No More has a better approach to songwriting, I really like the overall structure of the song.

I thought the Mr bungle tune was insanely creative.

The FNM one was kinda draggy and its humour was lost on me.

But yeah, it is about the riff. As I said, even if you like or hate the song, concentrate on the riff only. It's not "Song wars" (tried that) it's "Riff wars".
Now, someone give Batty a cigarette so he'll calm down...
