I know who he is, vaguely, but that riff isn't in the same league.

Maiden - 5
Moore - 0

Though not a fan of either the Maiden riff was just better.

If Epoch doesn't respond in the next few hours we can move on to the next person in line, who is Pet_sounds. Epoch, it's now 17:30 in Ireland. You have till 23:00 then you'll have to wait till your turn comes around again. Don't miss out: act now!

The only way you can up Focus is by choosing a song of theirs that isn't Hocus Pocus .

Focus - 1
Trower - 0

Love both of those, but that Hocus riff is very deceiving with the E7#9 in the 4th measure, known as the "Jimi" chord. It's a lot harder than it may seem.

Focus - 2
Trower - 0

Focus 4
Trower 0

Man I remember when Hocus Pocus first started getting played on the radio (1972). Couldn't freaking believe how fast a guitar player Jan Akkerman was.

Got to give this to Focus as well. Song's a classic and the riff is a big part of that.
Focus 5
Trower 0
