I'm about five minutes in and it sounds like Gnaw Their Tongues all over again. Not that it sounds like Gnaw Their Tongues, but what about this would bother him that didn't with Gnaw Their Tongues?

Spoiler for Trollheart Keep Out!:
It's a much uglier album as a whole and has a lot less form that TH would recognize with him being musically illiterate and all. It's also ****ing awful, unlike GTT

Will consider it, but I see him being more bored than tortured. Just going through my music lib'ary and I'm spitballing these albums.

Anaal Nathrakh - The Codex Necro
Dillinger Escape Plan - Calculating Infinity
Swarrrm - Black Bong
Lamb of God - Burn the Priest

The Codex Necro is about as abrasive as extreme metal gets, that Swarrrm album is both grindcore and hopefully hard for TH to wrap his head around, and Calculating Infinity and Burn the Priest are both highly unlistenable albums from genres he's entirely unfamiliar with.

Burn the Priest might be an odd choice, but I have faith that TH will hate everything about it.

Those are all good picks, had considered Swarrrm myself. I wish we could throw some early Swans at him, but I'm not sure if that's quite metal and I don't want Michael Gira coming after me. How about Pharmakon's Bestial Burden? Bridges the gap between noise and death metal, plus it's a chick and it adds an element of femdom in there.

Spoiler for Trollheart Keep Out!:
I've seen an interview where Michael Gira seemed kind of offended at being compared to metal. I understand the artistic point he's making (about atomizing **** or something), but he sounds like an elitist prick while saying it. If John ****ing Zorn can cross all the way over to make some grindcore without sacrificing his arty cred, then maybe Gira can get off his pedestal when making music that actually does sound like metal in the first place. Either way, if he says his band isn't a metal band, then **** him we can do it anyway.

Now I'm trying to remember which of the first three albums was the most abrasive. It's been a while, but I seem to remember them getting more so with each release. So, Greed?

And I don't think that Pharmakon album will work. Only six minutes in, and aside from the vocals, I don't see how it's at all metal. Otherwise I would have hit TH with that Merzbow album last year. And again, I think that would just bore TH. That's why I wanted that Fantomas album. It's off-the-wall and unlistenable, but ****ing intense as well.

I'd say Filth. No spoilers needed, he doesn't know what the **** I'm talking about.

Have just been listening to it the past few minutes, and without the right sound system (which TH most certainly does not have) I don't think it'll be anything too torturous.

Spoiler for Trollheart Keep Out!:
Also thinking of replacing DEP's Calculating Infinity with Converge's Jane Doe. It's just as abrasive much of the time, but is also a more interesting album, so there may be multiple ways for TH to hate it.

Edit: Maybe Converge's Petitioning the Angry Sky. Less moments that sound like music.

Spoiler for Trollheart Keep Out!:
Holy ****, why didn't I think of it before?! Deathcore! Nobody likes deathcore! Let's hit him with some Suicide Silence!

how about Emmure?

I also think he'll especially hate Man is the Bastard. So much feedback, noise, and agression]

Now I'm not so sure about the deathcore thing. He's already listened to Bring Me the Horizon, so he already knows how awful the genre is. And as awful as Emmure is, they're awful in a boring way. If I'm going to throw something terrible at him then it needs to be as gloriously terrible as Limp Bizkit. That was the best part of last year's Torture Chamber.

Spoiler for Trollheart Keep Out!:
****ing hell, I forgot I had Torture Garden on the last list. Grindcore with screeching sax? Perfect. So...

1. Naked City - Torture Garden
2. Lamb of God - Burn the Priest
3. Anaal Nathrakh - The Codex Necro
4. Converge - Jane Doe

I think I'm happy with that.
