If you want you can remove my Carboniferous recommendation earlier in the thread since it's on Wpnfire's list.

No that's not necessary. I'll just suppliment it with another album from the spare album list I provided.

Actually, since Trollheart says he's busy he can just use my original list and ignore the albums he's already done.

My idea now is to change the "What's that all about?" section to encompass Atmospheric Black Metal, so if anyone can shout with decent bands/albums I could use in this, I would appreciate it as I've already wasted about a week on Funeral Doom which I can not use now, unless I think of some other way to utilise or feature those albums. But WTAA? needs to be sorted, so any help very much appreciated. Also, any insight on best countries for this genre, how it differs significantly from normal Black Metal, and so on.

Thanks guys!
If you're still looking for and interested in Atmospheric Black Metal recommendations, here are some for you to look into for Metal Month III. (I also find it difficult to distinguish exactly where to draw the line between normal Black Metal and Atmospheric, but I'll try my best, and I'm fine with anyone chiming in on my selections for a second opinion if they feel the choices aren't suitable.)

Ulver - Bergtatt - Et Eeventyr i 5 Capitler -- (I'm pretty sure this should count, and by my search results it doesn't seem that you've mentioned it before, so I'm guessing you've not done a review of it yet.)

Dämmerfarben - Im Abendrot -- (This should fit the bill, though it has a pretty large bit of Folk influence, some decent level of Folk influence is pretty common in a lot of Atmospheric Black Metal and other BM by my account.)

Folkvang - Six Stories Without Keys -- Six Stories Without Keys | Folkvang

Sear Bliss - The Haunting -- (I'm not sure whether this would better fit under symphonic, but quite a few parts are very atmospheric, and most are at least decently so.)

Caladan Brood - Echoes of Battle -- (maybe this is more Epic Black Metal/Pagan/Folk Metal, though I still feel it as being pretty atmospheric, just not exactly like some others.) - Echoes of Battle | Caladan Brood

Empyrium - Songs of Moors and Misty Fields -- (Pretty folky, but I don't think this one is deniable.) - Songs Of Moors And Misty Fields | Empyrium

Arthemesia - Devs Iratvs -- (Maybe this is more Symphonic or Melodic Black Metal than Atmospheric, but it's a pretty well blended mix I'd say.)

Someone else can pick a Burzum album if there's one TH hasn't heard that would fit the more atmospheric bill. I'm uncertain, but I'm pretty sure you; Trollheart, have heard Filosofem, right? If not, then either that or some other mid-90's release of his would probably do.

That's great thanks. Yes I had heard Filosem (loved it) and I've also heard that Ulver is one I should definitely listen to, so I'll put all those on the list.

I've been listening to some atmospheric BM lately.
A few fun albums you might not have heard yet:

Nyktalgia - Nyktalgia
Wolves In The Throne Room - Two Hunters
Gris - Il Etait Une Foret
Paysage D'Hiver - Paysage D'Hiver
Blut Aus Nord - The Work Which Transforms God

I seriously thought of sending him this one in my recs, but I figured that it's too awesome for TH to get any enjoyment out of it.

I hesitated to list it, but then thought 'What the hell, he might enjoy the violin'.

I would love for TH to listen to this album.

I'll pop it in the folder, but remember, don't just choose albums you know I'll hate (Batty has that covered); it should have some chance of either converting me (like Sigh and whoever did Geist ist tuefel) or giving me something at least to say about it other than OOH MY EARS!!!
