Yea You're Ever So Inviting is a great song. Ya I did notice that some were repeated, but oh well, nonetheless, solid album!

Glassjaw Fan 06-25-2006 05:13 AM

my favourite band , ive heard the whole album mastered on mtv2.com and its superb. A departure from "they're only chasing safety" , which i think was needed as they were playing a bit safe on the last record

one_more_atrocity 06-25-2006 07:36 AM

heard abit of their new stuff off their web sites and it seems to be the best stuff that they've done for a while, cant wait to listen to the whole album all the way through, anyways, sounds good.

EDGE 06-26-2006 02:20 PM

I love it. The mixing is incredible.

/my opinion

swim 06-26-2006 09:47 PM

I've never been a fan. I don't even like their first album but I find this one to be a step up. I wouldn't buy it though.

Trauma 06-27-2006 12:57 PM

It's a step up from TOCS and TCOT, but a step down from AOD and equal to COTP, even though some people could look at it as maturing.
I don't think it's really that bad of an album because Spencer has pretty good vocal range, there are good backups again, more screaming, more techinical guitar and drum parts, and less poppy than TOCS, which is good.

IMO

bungalow 06-27-2006 12:58 PM

I'm seeing UnderOATH tomorrow.
It should be a lot of fun.

I'll try to take some pictures :)

Trauma 06-27-2006 01:00 PM

Sweet
Everytime you don't take pictures an angel dies.

Skid Mark 11-22-2006 02:15 AM

The music video for 'In Regards to Myself' Linkage...
Your thoughts? I reckon it's friggin sweet

My.Heart.Your.Hands 11-22-2006 10:37 AM

Why is an Underoath thread in an emo forum?

Trauma 11-22-2006 02:13 PM

It's not, it's in the HARDCORE forum.

My.Heart.Your.Hands 11-22-2006 02:31 PM

If you say...

riseagainstrocks 11-22-2006 05:25 PM

Since when is Underoath a hardcore band? Cause they scream alot?

Trauma 11-23-2006 11:56 AM

No, they're hardcore Christians.
Come on, man.

Maybe this thread should be in the rock/metal.
I think their new album classifies as such.

sleepy jack 11-25-2006 04:01 AM

^Noted, I shall put it there after merging this with all the other UnderOATH topics after a sweep of the forum.

No cause they wear tight pants.
Duh.

under 11-25-2006 12:14 PM

Lol.

Tight pants make anything hardcore especially with music. Kind of obvious. How to guys put up with them anyway. I just don't see the point of tight pants.

Trauma 11-25-2006 07:36 PM

They make your dick look huge.

Men Who Wear Tight Pants = Wet Dreams Come To Life

Rubber 10-19-2008 01:15 PM

Underoath doesn't believe in dinosaurs.
Also I heard their latest album is significantly more terrible than usual, is this true?

Alfred 10-19-2008 01:23 PM

I didn't like it as much as their previous stuff.

KaneFails 10-19-2008 01:53 PM

Honestly, at first I was like, "OMG ALBUMOFTHEYEARLOLOLOL", but now that I've gone over it a couple a times, Define the Great Line was a better album. But at least Lost has good stuff on it. Coming Down is Calming Down, anyone?

Alfred 10-19-2008 02:04 PM

Meh, I think the the best song on the album is the single, although Aaron's pre-chorus vocals are slightly annoying in that song.

It's not bad, though, but Define The Great Line is definitely better.

xxTDWPxx 05-01-2009 09:13 AM

I love this band. Underoath is way better with spencer. I love all their music my favorite album by them has to be Their Only Chasing Safety. their other stuff is good too.

Wrong, UnderOath was much better with Dallas, also more original, and less commercial. The Changing Of Times is their best album by far. Unless the pop/rock thing is what you're into, then maybe their later stuff is better for you. But as for them being better with Spencer, I don't think so, I mean Dallas left UnderOath and started MATSOD which is much better and more original than UnderOath has done since his departure.

coryallen2 05-01-2009 10:14 AM

UnderOath sounds more like an emo band I like them better back in the day when they were similar to As I Lay Dying.

pahuuuta 05-01-2009 10:16 AM

yeah i dont like them much either anymore i used to

Thrice 05-01-2009 11:31 AM

When the sun sleeps ftw.

thisWARisours 05-01-2009 03:28 PM

Anywhere I can find like an album list with the style they plan on each album?

Cause I know they are all like really different lol...

Alfred 05-01-2009 03:41 PM

Any era of Underoath is good.

I'll help you out a bit:

Act Of Depression & Cries Of The Past---> Harsh metallic sound
The Changing Of Times---> A mix between old and new Underoath... more accessible, but still harsh
They're Only Changing Safety---> Spencer's first album with Underoath, really poppy.
Define The Great Line---> Their masterpiece, way darker and heavier than TOCS, but still in the new Underoath style.
Lost In The Sound Of Separation---> Kind of like Define The Great Line, but a little more random and less focused. Decent album.

thisWARisours 05-01-2009 08:00 PM

Aight I just got their ****...first one is kinda too deathcore for me haha...Changing of Times sounds nice so far..

But you left out Cries of the Past, and it sounds AMAZING!

And I Dreamt Of You is sick so far...it's like deathcore fused with 80's...!

Alfred 05-01-2009 08:19 PM

Yeah, Underoath did kind of have a Deathcore vibe, but they came way before deathcore as we know it, and sound nothing like deathcore bands today.

Have you listened to DTGL? It really is an excellent album.

I think define the great line is more poppy than theyre only chasing safety. I think they have only gotten worse from the changing of times on. I recently picked up survive kaliedascope, a live album, and it was awful. Not to mention I like to know the members of the band I like and Underoath seems to constantly ruin that.

Alfred 05-01-2009 08:42 PM

I've heard a couple tracks from their live album and I thought they were great.

thisWARisours 05-02-2009 02:44 PM

Well so far I have just been listening to Cries Of The Past...want to hear all of this then go on in chronological order, this one is like amazing though.

Darkest Hour 05-03-2009 12:05 AM

define the great line = awesome

AshleighJane 05-29-2009 06:06 AM

surprisingly i like them..
Aaron Gillespie lives in clearwater..[an hour away]
i saw his house...
his new band the almost sucks ass

Kickin' 11-24-2009 09:11 AM
