I'm surprised no one has yet to mention Disambiguation, Underoath's newest release. I listened to the the album in its entirety through streaming on the band's myspace and it really blew me away. I was kind of worried about the future of the band ever since Aaron Gillespie quit but my fears were put to rest once I heard the new album.

The drumming seems to really fit the new, more darker mood of Underoath's music and I actually enjoy the clean vox from Spencer more than Gillespie's. I definitely recommend Disambiguation for any metalcore enthusiast out there. If anyone else has heard it, feel free to tell us what you think of Underoath's latest release.

The first two Underoath albums are really unbelievable, so far from the post hardcore they'd drift into. First two are deep into a completely metal oriented sound, featuring snippets of black metal, melodeath, techdeath, even doom. Cries of the Past is a master work and the slaying just doesn't stop.

As always, I pay attention to your metalcore recs, so I checked this out against my past better judgement, and that is some odd ****. It's like a metalcore Dimmu Borgir, but not awful. Nice.

Really is one of my favorites. One of a few bands that has released one of the sickest albums ever (Cries of the Past) and one of the lamest albums ever (They're Only Chasing Safety). I love nearly every second of Cries of the Past, but there are a fair amount of cuts I enjoy from their new post-hardcore stuff. They actually manage to fit a lot of different influences into their stuff.

...except Only chasing Safety, that basically blows from beginning to end
