Like, one of the only melodic death metal albums worth listening to.

That must be lame for you

Give me recs then. In Flames are awesome, At the Gates are gods, Heartwork is a masterpiece, but other than that I flail.

I was gonna recommend sone stuff a la Dismember that might not be "melodic death metal" but is death metal with a nice focus on melody, thought you'd be interested... But then you mention all the standards and I gotta redirect my train of thought. So I'm coming back with that don't worry
Have you listened to Edge of Sanity? |

This is Swedish
And it's almost sad how overlooked it us I hope that video works, it seemed like a lot longer than the codes usually look after I pasted it |
Oh wait. I just remembered I've been meaning to listen to Mercenary. I've heard they're a badass, non-Soilwork-esque melodic DM band.

Jute Gyte - Perdurance Mad excellent. I think it's bumped off Coma Cluster Void's Mind Cemetaries and la derpader creepsicle by chthebl'sht as my metal aoty. |
One of my favorite bands I've stumbled on lately, Metastasis out of Chile:

so excellent
|
x2 **** yeah

I have to admit I almost passed on this early on due to a seemingly thin and smallish production/sound, but I'm really glad I kept on. It unraveled into a very rewarding and surreal monolith hulking over my soul. Keys and other peculiar elements subtly add to the music that went from sounding small to distant and otherworldly. I think it's a prime contender for best death doom album

Unholy are indeed the ****. Their next album is prime as well.
