SUGGEST ME AN ALBUM - I'm probably not going to listen to it but I will if you bother me enough.

Switch out that Cabaret Voltaire album with Red Mecca. I'd like to see NIN **** off but I know they're probably staying because of their status.

Done. It's a similar situation to Green Day, except I think in this case enough people actually respect NiN's work. You should check out their album Ghosts I-IV. It's a big difference from their regular style, ambient industrial verging on dark ambient, instead of the industrial rock they're known for. Also, should I put KMFDM on there somewhere?

I decided to remove the pop rock list, and place some of those albums on both the soft rock list and the art rock list. By the way, I'm still waiting on the AOR list, Unknown. Anyways, throw some art rock suggestions at me. I've already stuck Bowie's Low point on the list, so I'm sure many arguments will ensue.

How about you f*ck off instead? NIN has made some stand the test of time albums, songs in general. Not every fan is some brain dead dummy, so can't even use that as an argument for why they're still as popular as they are.

You know I'm poking fun when I say f*ck off, right? So if you get bent out of shape over that. I'll have to give you sh*t for that too.

I'm more offended that you consider NIN a good band than telling me to **** off. I also don't think there's any correlation with intelligence and having horrible taste either.

Well. Whether or not they are a good band to you or you being offended by me liking what I will like is not something I generally care about.

I'm just saying that NIN has plenty of merit to deserve the following and success the band has so far. You not liking them doesn't make that go away. And I wouldn't go around with an opinion that they aren't a good band like it carries all the weight on the matter, because there's plenty of people around with great taste in music that'd just call you pompous or pretentious or to get over yourself and the opinion you have on what your status is in regard to your own taste.

I got over myself in that regard. Because I like what I like. I don't care if somebody thinks my taste is sh*t. Good for them. And I won't sh*t all over what someone else likes either. I used to do that, but I don't now.

And the measure of intelligence of an individual should never be brought in to question in regard to their taste in music. That is beyond f*cking stupid.

It's all good though Frownland. I'm not directing any of this at you. I am just speaking in general terms.

If you read my original post, you might notice that I never recommended stripping them from the list but rather begrudgingly allowed them on. This is because NIN is a ****ty band and gives industrial music a bad name (spare me the second wave shpiel, I already know), but they do have a large enough reputation to be on the list (unfortunately). And the intelligence thing, you brought that up. I totally agree with you on that.

I'm not ****ting on you because you like NIN, I'm ****ting on NIN because they are NIN. Liking them also means that you're a bad person, but I won't hold that against you.

Hell completely forgot, will pm you.

It's two lists as AOR must be one of the hardest genres to organize, as its biggest and critically acclaimed albums were often not the best from these bands. Some of the lesser known albums from these bands at times were their best, so in the end there is a lot of compromise on these lists. For example some of my personal favourites don't appear on either list.
