I'm just saying, I played that music, I got the same feeling or vibes that I got from rock and roll only a couple times. =And like I said. I don't care about how genres were classified back then. This is today, and genre terms are more decisive, even if they are still vague. But either way, albums had a lot of labels back then and that's just disorganized. Rock and roll was more of a "term" for a scene consisting of many rock and pop and even country bands. Not very decisive. I already have an idea of what rock and roll means to me and I'll vote on whether they fit the bill or not, despite your objections. I never said anyone had to agree with me, but I would appreciate it if the only four people who are consistent on this thread do not hound me.

Like I said, I don't really care who wins. Rock and Roll is cool, but I don't have any high hopes for most of the rounds.

Also, using Disraeli Gears and Led Zeppelin aren't exactly fair because Disraeli Gears was a major influence in psychedelic music and Led Zeppelin helped pioneer hard rock and heavy metal.

Is it mental gymnastics or is it not being stuck in a past I wasn't born or living in? That's the difference. Your trolling doesn't really make a good argument as it is just trolling.

Where would the fun be in that?

Well, if it's a common topic, then I wouldn't feel comfortable on the thread, probably on the site. Also, Technic has gone through enough ****, so I suggest if you want to troll me you choose a separate thread. Am I setting myself up for something? Maybe. But we should at least keep it peaceful on a thread ran by a guy who seems to be quite stressed.

Rock 'n roll as a genre is a part of that past that refers to the early rockets so yes, applying modern standards to them because "that's just not how it is anymore" is stupid. Also I'm sorry that you've fallen back on the battle cry of "everyone who disagrees with me is trolling."

That's not what I did. You posted a meme intentionally insulting my logic without coming across as rude. That's a definite form of trolling. A logical argument would be counteracting my previous statement with an explanation. Your first post was trolling, even though I wasn't really offended. That last post of yours was a legitimate discussion.

Also, I did question as to some of these albums not being considered rock and roll. I looked up the genres on different websites for some of these albums, and that helped me to form a better idea of the sound of rock and roll. Obviously, the fact that a couple of these albums weren't labelled as rock and roll despite being a part of the scene denoted that "rock and roll" did in fact have a specific sounds, as rockabilly did (considered to be a combination of rock and roll's sound and hillbilly music). Rock and Roll is like pop. There's a definitive sound, but explaining it is hard because the scene is large.

I'm not trolling you. I legitimately disagree with you on just about every genre classification grudge match we have, and for some reason I enjoy the discussions, even if we just end up frustrated with each other. My debate style just isn't particularly reserved. I believe that if you tone down your rhetoric then your argument is probably going to suffer by being more concerned with making nice. It's nothing personal, I'm just bombastic by nature, even when I'm being serious.

I said you were hounding, not trolling. I just didn't want Tristan and Technic coming in here with four people debating my opinions. I'm not blaming anyone, nor did I intend to come across that way. I enjoy them, too. But if I end upo discussing my opinion for two long it gets on my nerves. I'm well aware that little to none of the *******-ness you so gleefully exude is personal.

Posts that aren't paragraphs long are only trolling if you're a big baby about it. Explaining the sound is hard for you because you can't use the word atmospheric to describe it .
