Not sure I get the other objections though. Can't a poll be made by anybody, not just the mods? And a poll can be a single-vote poll, the single vote being the one you are wanting to vote off for that round.

Anyway, it was just an idea, not something I'll lose sleep over.

Only if you wanted to make a new thread for each battle, since only mods can add or change polls once the thread has been posted. You could do that if you wanted, but I'd rather keep it all in one thread.

You only vote for one band when you're down to the final three. Before that you're voting for anywhere from four to two bands, depending on how far along the battle is. So far as I know there's no way to set a specific limit on the amount of votes you can cast.
