Default Axl(e) Rose vs. Ethel Merman

Two very distinct voices, yet they mostly share the same pitch, and quite notably, they share the same vibrato. Which of the two would make you want to stick your head in a blender less?

It has to be Ethel Merman for me, Plankton! She doesn't get enough love on MB, and on the basis of your clip, she had better footwork than Axl too.

Edit: So should I vote for her as "less damaging" or salute her power by voting Axl as less? It's even more confusing than those butterfly ballot papers...

It's the lesser of the two evils, so in your case you would vote Merman.

I had no idea who Ethel Merman is and expected another rock singer.
Naturally I lol'd and fell in love with her the minute she appeared in the video.
Ethel >>> Axl

When this topic of Axl and his voice come up. I often ask myself why so many people seem so annoyed with his voice. It shouldn't be a question of if he can sing or not. Because he can sing, rather well in my opinion. Being that is it is. I do sometimes find myself annoyed by his voice. It's the pitch. He can hit some notes some others can't. Dude can sing, plain and simple.

Of the two however. Axl makes me want to stab out my ear drums less. The woman sings good too I guess. But she hasn't a damn thing over Axl in my opinion.

Same range? I'm pretty shocked to hear that Ethel Merman could sing as low as Axl.

I was too. But I still don't think she really has any edge over Axl.

BTW, the poll needs a third option: "What's the difference?"

*edited to add: Thanks Plank
