So basically Starless = Jazz Fusion whereas 21st Century Schizoid Man = Jazz-Rock?

SUGGEST ME AN ALBUM - I'm probably not going to listen to it but I will if you bother me enough.

Those two albums aren't really full on jazz-rock, and I don't think the tracks are either. Do either of those tracks have any traditional influences outside of rock?

21st Century definitely has some looser free jazz influences, but they are the backdrop to the defining rock influences, whereas Starless is practically jazz all the way through, and only turns more towards rock briefly towards the end, as well as during the buildup.

EDIT- I don't mean we should add them to those lists, I'm just asking about their leanings and how they pertain to the differences between Fusion and Jazz-Rock.

I don't think those two track really do. You're talking two progressive rock/art rock albums. A better example, like I've said before, would be the differences between Jack Johnson and Aja. And I know I stated we should put Aja in there, but that was because I couldn't find the jazz rock one. Now that there were two, I was looking forward to both.

You probably haven't listened to King Crimson very extensively, but I'd point out that while early in their career they were more Prog, they gradually shifted towards Jazz Fusion. Also Jack Johnson is properly identified as Bull**** Folk, not Jazz-Rock.

EDIT- Also, if you had to pick the worst album off of the Jazz Fusion list, what would it be? I'm considering a replacement. Don't ask for the replacement, because I know you'll just say all of the albums are better than it. Just tell me which ones are the worst, and I'll consider if it belongs on the list.

I haven't listened to them all. But I can say I've heard six or seven KC albums from different eras. I can also say that jazz-rock sounds NOTHING like Jazz-Fusion. Take a listen to Head Hunters and then listen to Aja. Tell me what you think. It doesn't take even a newb to tell the difference. I'm writing a review for Head Hunters (which I'm listening to now), and it talks about how any rock influence in jazz-rock may be replaced with soul, pop, or funk influence. In fact, I can't really call Head Hunters a rock album. If you want to state it's a rock genre, fine by me. But logically, the one that should stay is Jazz-Rock because the rock influence is far more apparent. If more people agree the two are different, will you consider reuploading the list?

Also: Jack Johnson = Jazz-FUSION, not ROCK.
Aja = Jazz ROCK.

Plus, if you're going to talk about King Crimson being jazz-fusion, don't use songs from Red and their debut as examples...

You keep confusing the two. Like I said: Jazz-Fusion has more soul, funk, and pop inlfuence while jazz-rock is basically rock with jazzz influence.

If you're worried about being unfair, then you can just remove them both. I would support that.

If it were up to Batlord, every album would be by Bathory. Maybe bootlegs, as well.
