Default Rotting Christ

Well if you want the gist of it beforehand, Rotting Christ are an absurdly good band.

The granddaddy of Greek extreme metal, probably, they got going with their first album Thy Mighty Contract, which was a melodic yet still vicious black metal shredder from 1993. Their second Non Servaim was similar if not a bit more straightforward. Both fantastic already, but they'd start to evolve their sound to a cleaner more thought out, gothic/melodic black metal sound, and would release an epic triad of albums. Of which I consider the Triarchy of Lost Lovers to be best (forgive my choppy bio but posting on my iPod is tough since having multiple tabs open always screws my ass)

I haven't got around to exploring much of their more recent output but I ought to since I still see mostly positive things. However their first like 6 albums are amazing, and I've heard one or two odd ones aside from them that also rule.

Check out their stuff seriously, even though their sound has gone through multiple evolutions, they've remained consistently good and a premier metal band.

Triarchy, A Dead Poem, and Sleep of the Angels are fantastically solid consecutive albums, must hear. If you automatically envision gayness associated with gothic metal, these might change your mind by how much they slay
