Why Florida is better than All Your ****hole States

So is Blue Hawk from Florida? It would explain so much.

Frownland 09-11-2017 11:57 AM

Fine, I'll give. Florida is the best ****hole state.

No, but don't you agree about Florida? I mean, humanity can live without ****ty space program, Mc'Donald, Internet or crappy GM foods, but try to live without Death Metal. Btw, this is a historic video.

Thank god you didn't post Focus.

Considering the fact that Florida is the 4th most populous state, they honestly have an extremely low proportion of good bands.

Frownland 09-11-2017 10:29 PM

The fact that death metal came from Florida as Blue Hank says shows that Floridians fantasize and write songs about horrific deaths and torture because it's an uplifting fantasy in comparison to living in Florida.

Also, death metal really originated in California so it's just a continuation of Florida's long pattern of trying to be a half-assed California.

As if you don't love Iced Earth.

Nah. They had Possessed, but Possessed sound closer to some weird version of 1st wave black metal than death metal, they didn't start or were part of a death metal scene, and Death existed on their own before Possessed even dropped Seven Churches. I think they basically get the nod just cause of "Death Metal" tbh. Death may not have had the first DM album but they probably have more claim than most of having started it.

I give the credit to Posessed. Sorry.

I understand, and they're definitely a direct link to death metal if nothing else, but I still say Death is probably the true originator of death metal.

Seven Churches and Scream Bloody Gore are not that different in style imo, it's just that the former is older and actually has a song on it called "Death Metal".

This may not be considered a death metal album, but Reign in Blood was, imo, one of the earliest and biggest influences on the genre.
